My great-grandmother was a Gardner, and was born in Hillsville. (She came to the Indian Territory, now Oklahoma, in the late 19th century. We still have many cousins, though, in and around Hillsville, Cana, Meadows of Dan, etc.)
It's a thrill and an honor for me to visit the Gardner Cemetery when I visit Hillsville, as I get to see the graves of so0000 many of Gardner and McNeil ancestors alike.
The cemetery itself is clean and well maintained, and just beautiful there between the Piedmont the Blue Ridge.
